Regulations for Instating the Joint Research and Development Center of Nsysu and Brogent Technologies, Inc,.

Chapeter 1: General Provisions

Article 1:

These regulations are formulated pursuant to the “Regulations of establishment and dissolution for management research center of National Sun Yat-sen University.”

Article 2:

The research center is named “Joint Research and Development Center of Nsysu and Brogent Technologies, Inc,.” (hereafter referred to as “the research center”). The research center is established as a first rate task-oriented research center.

Article 3:

The purpose of establishing this Center is to integrate researching resource of Brogent Technologies and Nsysu, and maintain a long-term collaboration. The research center’s tasks are as following:

1. Enhance the collaboration between Nsysu and Brogent Technologies.
2. Division of the technical projects.
3. Joint training of talents.
4. Sharing the resource and equipment.

All of tasks are set to have students get into the industry and learn the techniques earlier which can also maintain a good communication between Nsysu and Brogent Technologies. We cultivate the talents of mechanism design, System control, power management, and simulation digital content, who will have foresight prospective and thinking through the collaboration.

Chapeter 2: Organization and Management

Article 4:

The research center will establish a chairman for three years, and the chairman can be re-elected. Within the research center, the chairman will manage and organize affairs. The chairman will be a selected professor or researcher within related fields who is referred by the committee which is governed by vice president, and approved by the university president. When a chairman’s term is over or if a chairman steps down the chairman is expected to appoint the next chairman with the university president’s approval. The chairman’s previous evaluation results serve as reference qualifications for the next consecutive term. The university’s R&D office will execute cancellation of the center with approval from the university president in the case of three months without completing appointment of a chairman.

The research center is able to establish a vice chairman and a chief executive officer when it is needed.  The vice chairman and Chief Executive officer will be referred by the chairman and approved by the university president.

Article 5:

The research center has established an academic advisory committee which is made up of experts and scholars of related fields Committee members should be referred by the chairman and approved by the university president.

Article 6:

The research center has established a R&D and funding management committee which is governed by the chairman. The research center and Brogent technologies recommend 4 experts or scholars as the committee members. This committee will be in charge of the setting R&D plans and reviewing the project funding.

Article 7:

The research center will have several administrative assistants when it is needed. All employment term is based on the projects processing period.

Chapeter 3: Budgeting

Article 8:

The finances (including HR costs) are self-provided by the research center.

The research center’s accounts and approval, checks and balances, execution, and safekeeping of finances will be executed according to university regulations.

Chapeter 4: Supplementary Provisions

Article 9:

The research center is obligated to conduct self-evaluation and accept evaluation from the university annually. The terms and procedures for evaluation will be conducted according to relevant regulations. 

Article 10:

The Research center will be abolished automatically under following conditions:

a.When the cause of establishment ceases to exist, the chairman、supervisor or university president should propose dissolution.

b. Any Violations of the Article 8.

c. The Funding of the research center is under budgeting.

Article 11:

These regulations and amendments have been approved by the R&D and funding committee of the research center and will be implemented once approved by the president of the university.
